Go Colts!

We're going to the Super Bowl!!! There is much rejoicing that our beloved Colts are headed to the Super Bowl again. It will be a tough game and I'm not sure my nerves will be able to take it. I doubt I will sit at all while watching it, I will probably just pace. My only wish is that our dear friends, the Skeans, the Glads, the Croslands, the Orts, and the Harts could join us for one heck of a party. I have very fond memories of our Super Bowl parties many, many years ago. Go Colts!

Christmas 2009

Our Christmas this year was very atypical. It started off normal enough--desperate fleeing from Indiana as soon as school is out, driving straight through, arriving in Florida, and total relaxation. The first week we were there involved reading, napping, walks on the beach, games, and napping (did I mention napping?) It was a little cooler than usual so we only were able to lay on the beach 2 days. However, we had been there almost a week when on Christmas day my mom was admitted to the hospital with a serious infection. Nothing is worse than being away from family when they need you. My sister Holly and her family decided to head for Indiana and Ashley and I flew home. Mom was very surprised to say the least! So, Scott and Blake stayed in Florida hanging out with his family while Ashley and I hung out with my family. Mom was able to go home after 3 days and is now doing o.k. It was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to see Holly, Dave, Rennes, Savannah, Emma, Jordan, and Jackson. They stayed at our house and it was great getting reacquainted. We've decided that mom can't handle all her kids being gone for Christmas so we're going to have to start taking turns :) Now, if I can get Scott to take me to Florida for Spring Break all would be great!

Boiler Up!

This week Ashley made it official...she accepted Purdue's offer of admission. Scott is a very happy camper! His biggest fear was that she would go off to BYU, marry someone who lived out west and he'd never see her again. That plus the fact that Purdue has an amazing computer science program had him rooting for Purdue. It was a tough decision for her and we're all glad it's finally been made. Now we're in the process of finding housing, roommates, and scholarships. She was awarded a scholarship from Purdue that's renewable each year, if we can get a couple more we would all heave a sigh of relief. Luckily, the field of study she's going into is begging for women so there's a lot out there. It's hard to believe that my Ashley is ready for college. We're so proud of her!
